About the Program
Program Description
The Ph.D. program focuses on training students to conduct independent research conforming with the highest international standards. The program builds from a core of economic theory and statistical methods to applications in a wide range of fields including Economic Growth, International Economics, EU and Turkish Economy and Globalization and Financial Markets. The Program also involves the student and faculty exchanges with The University of London (SOAS).
Application Requirements
1- ALES Score minimum (EA): 70 or GMAT 500 or GRE (Q) 700
- ALES must be taken within the last two years
- GMAT or GRE must be taken within the last five years
2- Graduate Diplomas
3- Official Transcripts (undergraduate and graduate)
4- KPDS: 70, ÜDS: 70, TOEFL IBT 79/ CBT 213 / TOEFL PBT 550, IELTS:7.0
- KPDS and UDS for are valid for 5 years, for other tests the validity period is two years.
5- Two academic reference letters
6- Statement of Purpose
7- Resume
8- Photocopy of ID card
9- Documentation of Residence
10- 5 Photographs
11- Documentation of Military Service for male candidates
12- Application Form

Calendar
Economics PhD program courses will be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays in accordance with the KHU Academic Calendar.
Scholarships
A number of scholarships are available to eligible students. Some of the doctoral candidates will be employed as graduate assistants at the Department of Economics.
